At least seven people, including two women and their three children died when Tatmadaw soldiers opened automatic fire in Kyauk Prinseik, Maungdaw. One of the woman shot was pregnant.
At around 4pm on Wednesday, military personal suddenly raided the village and started firing their automatic rifles at villagers without any warning. During the hail of automatic fire, at least seven were killed. The military then left the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Oli Ahmed, s/o Abu Bakar, Ismail s/o Syed Hussain, Rabika d/o Wajullah and Amana d/o Md Rashid. The two daughters of Rabika, and a son of Amana, who were with their mothers during the incident also died. Rabika was pregnant.
Dozens of civilians including women and children have been killed by the Tatmadaw since Sunday.
