Yesterday, Myanmar’s Ministry of Health proclaimed the first case of COVID-19 in a Rohingya man in Maungdaw township.
The said Rohingya man, aged 31 years was assumed to be reentered to Myanmar from Thankhali Refugee camp. He left Bangladesh on 30th May along with his four family members.
The Rohingya man’s wife and three children are currently in quarantine and the man has been sent to Maungdaw Hospital for treatment according to Radio Free Asia Reporting.
Currently, there are 700 Rohingyas who have re-entered to Maungdaw township from Bangladesh Refugee camp after escaping the 2017 genocidal brutality of the Myanmar military.
