On Wednesday, the 2019 World Happiness Report was released which ranked 156 countries around the world based on the factors including life expectancy, freedom, GDP and corruption.
Finland ranked top successively for two consecutive years whereas the Nordic nations ranked amongst the top five. Myanmar scored the 131st position whereas Bangladesh its neighboring country who now sheltered 1.1 million Rohingyas as refugees ranked as 125th.
Singapore is placed on 34th position marking top amongst ASEAN countries. Following Singapore, Thailand surprisingly scored 52nd position. On the other hand, Philippines ranked 69th, Malaysia ranked 80th, Indonesia ranked 92nd, Vietnam ranked 94th, Laos ranked 105th and Cambodia ranked 109th.
South Sudan, Central African Republic and Afghanistan came at the bottom of the ranking.
