On 22 June, two underage Rohingya youths from Paungtoke village, Mrauk- U township, Rakhine/Arakan State were arrested by the Myanmar military.
Some soldiers from Mrauk-U based light infantry Battalion no-540 in two military trucks entered PaungToke village to search for a local and the head of Yawathit village under the suspicion of having a connection with the Arakan Army.
Failure to find the persons in question, they have arrested two workers and the son of the head of Yawathit village. However, the son of the head was released on bail later on.
The other two detainees were Rohingya teenagers. One of the detainees has been identified as Marserie, and the other one is the son of a former village head.
