On Saturday at around 2 am the local people of Subarnachar detained nine Rohingyas including two children while the Rohingyas were fleeing Bhasan Char of Hatiya, Noakhali. The detainees were handed over to Charjabbar police station the following day.
Dev Priya Das, an officer in charge of the Charjobbar police station confirmed the matter.
The OC further said that during the preliminary interrogation, the detained Rohingyas admitted that they had fled from Bhasanchar for Kutupalong Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar through brokers.
