On September 25, several National League for Democracy (NLD) election signages were destroyed in three Taungup townships in Rakhine state according to a township NLD member.
U Min Aung, an NLD candidate contesting a seat in the Arakan State legislature representing Taungup’s constituency No. 2, said that they have filed a case in the relevant police station and the police should investigate it urgently.
During 12th September to 20th September, NLD campaign signboards in Taungup Township’s Maei town and the villages of Chaung Thone Gwa, Nat Kan and Ywama were vandalised.
On 18th September, NLD election signboards near Myoma market and Nat Chaung village in Arakan State’s Myebon Township were also destroyed.
On September 23, An NLD campaign signboard in Myaw Taw U village, Manaung Township, was torn off.
