(Press Release)

Ref: (RSO/MePR//04/24)

15 September, 2024

A few days ago, we received a video file released by the Mogh terrorist group AA. In the video, it was mentioned that on September 9th, 2024, at around 9:30 PM, more than 50 hostages were killed due to air raids carried out by the Myanmar junta’s air force on a temporary detention center of the terrorist Arakan Army (AA), located within the complex of Border Guard Police (BGP) Base No. 2 in the 4-mile area of Maungdaw, which had been recently occupied by AA. The video also claimed that all the deceased were members of Rohingya militia groups, including the RSO, prisoners of war captured during battle, Rohingya trained by the military council, informers and collaborators of the military council, individuals under investigation for attempting to disrupt the ULA/AA’s revolution, members of the ALP, and those under suspicion for various reasons.

We strongly deny that any of our soldiers or members were arrested by the terrorist group AA or were among the dead as stated in the video. We also want to firmly assure that the Rohingya victims who were killed were neither armed forces members nor participants in any military training. They were all innocent civilians, well-educated and known for their strong character. The AA deliberately detained and killed them. It is widely known that the terrorist AA has similarly abducted many young Rohingya in the past, whose fates remain unknown to this day.

As falsely claimed in the video, the bombs fired by the SAC allegedly killed all of AA’s enemies, while none of its own members were harmed. This is a blatant attempt to deceive the world. According to our sources, all the deceased were shot by the terrorist AA. Taking advantage of the airstrike, the terrorist group pretended to be innocent, attempting to cover up their violations.

Furthermore, the terrorist AA has been silently killing large numbers of Rohingya in Buthidaung and Maungdaw townships. In 2016-2017, they also killed and raped thousands of Rohingya of all ages, under the protection of the junta.

Once again, the terrorist AA has taken hundreds of Rohingya hostages, claiming they are war refugees, while denying them food and medical care. As a result, many have died from diseases, lack of medical treatment, and famine. Despite the existence of safer locations under AA control, the hostages were deliberately kept in active war zones, demonstrating a clear intent to kill them.

We would like to reiterate that the terrorist group AA is entirely responsible for these deaths and must face the consequences soon.
