On Thursday Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-15) arrested two Rohingyas including members of Arakan Salvation Army (ARSA), a separatist organization of Myanmar, from Cheinda area of Ramu, Cox’s Bazar.
They were arrested in front of RAB-15 office in Cheinda area of Ramu on Cox’s Bazar to Teknaf Road in the early hours of Thursday (February 2).
RAB-15 senior assistant director (law and mass media) Abu Salam Chowdhury confirmed the matter.
The arrested are Shafiq alias Hafeez Shafiq (30) son of Dil Mohammad of C block of Rohingya camp number 22 of Teknaf and Islam (26) son of Rashid Ahmed of D Block of the same camp.
Additional Superintendent of Police, Abu Salam Chowdhury said that Hafez Shafiq, who was arrested in the raid is the accused in the weapons case filed at Teknaf police station. And other arrestee, Islam is a terrorist of Myanmar’s separatist organization ARSA against whom there are several cases.
He said that the two arrested persons have been handed over to Teknaf police station.
