Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-15) arrested an active member of the group Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) from the area of Coat Bazar, a sub-district of Cox Bazar, of Ukhiya police station.
The detained is Mohammed Ullah (37) son of Abdur Rahman, resident of block-15 at camp 8E in Kutuplong camp of Ukhiya police station.
According to press briefing by RAB-15, on information RAB conducted a raid in front of the Coat Bazar and arrested Ullah, a member of the notorious ARSA group.
The RAB personnel said that in the initial interrogation, Ulah admitted his involvement with ARSA, how he used to conduct meetings with other ARSA members, and even used to participate in ARSA led subversive operations in and outside the camps.
It was also revealed that Ullah was engaged to inform the government side movement against ARSA. In exchange he used to get a big amount from separatist group ARSA.
Mohammed Ullah has been handed over to Ukhiya police station for legal prosecution under relevant acts.
