Cox’s Bazar, September 29, 2025 — The Rohingya community today marked the fourth anniversary of the assassination of prominent human rights leader Muhib Ullah, who was gunned down in Cox’s Bazar refugee camps on September 29, 2021.
Muhib Ullah, the late chairperson of the Arakan Rohingya Society for Peace and Human Rights (ARSPH), rose to international prominence after addressing the United Nations and other global forums, where he amplified the voices of the Rohingya people. His steadfast calls for justice, dignity, and peaceful dialogue inspired thousands but also made him a target.
To honor his legacy, ARSPH organized a commemoration program in the camps today. Youth, teachers, elders, and community committee members attended, paying tribute to his struggle.
“He was the voice for the voiceless. Even though he is gone, his spirit still guides us,” said one participant at the gathering.

For many, the date is observed as Martyrs’ Day, a solemn reminder of both his sacrifice and the unfinished fight for Rohingya rights.
Muhib Ullah’s legacy endures as a symbol of courage, peaceful resistance, and hope — not only for the Rohingya people but also for oppressed communities worldwide.
