Rohingya Diaspora around the world joins in for an online conference on 25th August

25th August 2017, a black day for the Rohinygas where the Myanmar Military brutally killed, raped and forced the Rohingya to flee to Bangladesh.

On 25th-26th August 2020, Actionaid in association with BRAC University and Centre for Genocide Studies is organising an event where Rohingyas from all over the world will join.

The conference is titled “Connecting the Rohingya Diaspora: Highlighting the Global Displacement” and its objectives are to Raise the plight of the Rohingyas and also to share the experiences of the Rohingya Diaspora around the world and to connect the Rohingyas.

The Chief guest of the conference is Mr. Masud Bin Moment, Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh and joining him as a Guest of honour, Mr. Cherno Marenah who is the Solicitor General and Legal Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Government of the Republic of the Gambia.

The conference is divided into four panels sessions. The conference will highlight the widespread human rights violation, persecution and systemic ethnic cleansing that the Rohingyas faced in Myanmar. The e-conference will also explore and examine the existing socio-economic conditions and political situations of the Rohingya diaspora, and the relationship they have with the Rohingyas both inside and outside Myanmar and the future plans of the Rohingya diaspora.

The event is open for all. Last date of registration is 20th August. The following conference will broadcast on Facebook live.
