Rohingya infants denied official recognition

BGP forces carried out an inquiry regarding the enlistment of members from every Rohingya household across Taungbazar, on Thursday, January 3rd. During the process, each individual was separately photographed and listed, 
The authorities were deliberately leaving out information on the new-born infants (aged less than one year). Moreover, the officers went as far as prohibiting the curious parents from bringing up the matter, threatening to charge them with accusations based on fabricated evidence.
Our correspondent says the omission of the infants from the family list clearly indicates they have no option to reside in Arakan in the long term.
