Rohingya Khobor | August 2025
Cox’s Bazar — To commemorate Rohingya Genocide Day, Rohingya Khobor has launched a special competition aimed at discovering and encouraging enthusiastic Rohingya citizen journalists. The initiative features two categories, Video Making and Storytelling, both focused on documenting the authentic experiences of genocide survivors.
Objective
The competition seeks to preserve collective memory, promote truth-telling, and empower new voices from within the Rohingya community by providing a platform for creative storytelling in both video and written forms.
Storytellers Prizes
- Video Making Competition:
🥇 1st Prize – BDT 4,000
🥈 2nd Prize – BDT 3,000
🎖️ Two additional participants will receive BDT 1,000 each - Storytelling Competition:
🥇 1st Prize – BDT 2,500
🥈 2nd Prize – BDT 2,000
🎖️ Two additional participants will receive BDT 1,000 each
💰 Total Prize Money: BDT 15,500
Competition Categories
- Video Making (3–5 minutes): A video story of a genocide survivor. Videos must be submitted through Google Drive, with the shareable link provided in the form. All submitted videos must include English subtitles.
- Storytelling (Written Story): A written account of a genocide survivor, either as a feature story or Q&A interview format. In all cases, an audio recording of the interview must be submitted along with the written piece.
Submission Guidelines
All links must be set to “Anyone with the link can view.” Entries must reflect authenticity, dignity, and a human-centered narrative. Plagiarism will result in disqualification. Winners will be selected based on creativity, storytelling quality, and adherence to the theme.
