A Rohingya man was reportedly arrested by the Arakan Army on the morning of 7 March in Buthidaung Township, according to local sources.
The incident occurred around 10:00 a.m. in Nasar Para village, which is part of Atoa Kha Thay village tract. The man was identified as Ali Bok Toh, a 26 year old Rohingya and the son of Ali Hosan.
Local residents said members of the Arakan Army entered the village and took Ali Bok Toh away. The reason for his arrest remains unclear.
At the time of reporting, there was no information about where he had been taken or about his current condition.
Residents in the area say they are increasingly worried about the safety of Rohingya civilians as arrests and tensions continue in different parts of Buthidaung Township.
