For decades, Rohingya Muslims have been oppressed in their own country for their religion and ethnicity and in order to address the Rohingya crisis, the New Lines Institute launched a Global Rohingya Initiative.
The initiative is a coordinated international effort where the objective is to provide a platform for the Rohingya.
This initiative will focus on three essential issues:
- Policy and politics.
- Humanitarian issues
- Accountability.
Dr Azeem Ibrahim director of the New Lines Institute said, “The Rohingya must be empowered to speak for themselves, represent themselves and develop solutions to their own problems in the manner best suited to them.”
