Rohingya refugees, who were forcibly displaced from Myanmar and now reside in Bangladesh, have stood in solidarity with the flood victims in the country. The refugees raised an impressive fund of 1,119,350 Bangladeshi Taka, which they donated to the As-Sunnah Foundation, led by Sheikh Ahmadullah.
Sheikh Ahmadullah shared this news on his verified Facebook page on Sunday, September 1. In his post, he expressed his deep appreciation for the refugees’ generosity, stating, “These Rohingya brothers and sisters, who themselves rely on relief aid, have managed to save small amounts from their own relief to donate to our flood fund.”
He further added, “These individuals, forcibly displaced from Myanmar, could not remain indifferent during our time of crisis. They have gathered a substantial fund of 1,119,350 Taka from the camps and sent it to our office through a Bangladeshi representative.”
Sheikh Ahmadullah emphasized the significance of this gesture by stating, “Their noble initiative proves that in the face of Muslim brotherhood, the distinctions of country, time, maps, and borders disappear.”
This act of kindness by the Rohingya refugees highlights the deep sense of Muslim brotherhood that transcends geographical and political boundaries, and it serves as a powerful reminder of the compassion and solidarity that can emerge even from those who are themselves in need.
