On December 1, a Rohingya youth died while he was having tea with his friends at Eidgaon in Cox’s Bazar.
The incident took place at Tawakkul Juice corner of the new office market of the Upazila on Thursday (December 1) night.
The deceased has been identified as Mustafa (24), resident of Kutupalong Rohingya camp, Ukhiya.
Eidgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Golam Kabir confirmed the matter and said that three friends were chatting in a tea shop. During this, there is a bet between them to have hot tea. While drinking hot tea, a young man’s throat started burning. He was given cold drinks and ice cream to relieve the pain. After being taken to the hospital, the doctor on duty declared him dead. The body is in Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.
OC said that no complaint has been received in this regard yet. Legal action will be taken if complaint is received.
