This morning Rohingya refugees in camps of Bangladesh observed the fifth anniversary of Rohingya genocide remembrance day committed by the tyrant military of Myanmar and Rakhine extremists in 25 August 2017, where the junta committed mass rape to the Rohingya teens and women, torching villages, extrajudicial killing and arbitrarily arrest of Rohingya people that compelled over 8 lakh Rohingyas to escape in Bangladesh.
Rohingyas who participated in the remembrance raise their voices for justice , peace, human rights, freedom of movement and freedom of education which have been denied by Myanmar military.
Ultimately the all Rohingyas want to go back to their homeland with dignified return after getting the full rights, safety and security under the protection of international community.
Abdul Munaf, a refugee from Balukhali camp said, “In August 2017 the Myanmar military and other law enforcement agencies in Rakhine state mainly in Maungdaw, Buthidaung and Rathedaung township committed village arson, gang rape, brutal killing, and mass arrest targeting Rohingya to exterminate us from the soil of Arakan (Rakhine state), and the military forced us to escape in Bangladesh through their so-called clearance operation with the genocidal intent.”
During the commemoration, the refugees thanked to Bangladesh government and its people for providing them shelter, security, and humanitarian support. They even expressed their gratitude to United Nations, International Community, NGOs, INGOs, and other countries who stood beside Rohingyas in their fateful days in 2017 and still continue to generously supporting to them.
