On 5 January 2022, the Rohingya Prevention Committee (RPC) in Coxs’ Bazar submitted a memorandum to District Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Mamunur Rashid in order to discontinue the job of Rohingya from hotels, motels and other tourism venues around Cox’s Bazar district.
At that time, the deputy commissioner said, “I almost always tell the hotel owners that no Rohingya should get a job.” It is true that many people are providing jobs to the Rohingyas to financially gain.
Finally, Advocate Taposh Rakshito the advisor of RPC requested the cooperation of the district administration so that the locals get jobs instead of the Rohingyas.
