Today in the afternoon the security police beat refugees severely and seized goods while selling fish and vegetables at Lambashiya Rohingya market of Ukhiya.
The Rohingya refugee vendors buy the vegetables and fruits from outside the camp. Fish and some goods are sold daily in camp markets, where the camp security guards often arrest and beat the vendors and confiscate the goods.
“I have four daughters and my health is not very good. Though I get basic food item from support center, I sell vegetables to meet my extra family expenditure, such as – children’s clothing, buying meat and other household materials, etc.” a refugee victim told Rohingya Khobor (RK).
“The capital money which I used for selling vegetables has become zero. Because the security police dismantled and seized my whole selling goods and beat me severely,” the victim said and also added that he is highly anxious of maintaining his family expenditures.
