Maungdaw- Tatmadaw forces accompanied by Rakhine men in civilian clothing entered Singri Para in Maungdaw North, assaulted local people including children and looted valuables, according to our correspondent in the area.
In the early morning hours of Friday, the invaders suddenly entered the village, and began beating anyone they could, including many minor children who fell in front of them.
At one stage, the forces apprehended two men – Kamal Hossain and Syed Alam. The two men were tied to a tree and then the military proceeded to torture them by hitting them continuously often with batons and rifle butts, the whole ordeal lasting for two hours.
Following this, the military raided the house of Md Faisal after supposedly learning he is well-off and in possession of lots of assets. His whole home was stripped bare, and everything valuable, including all cash was taken away. Faisal, hitherto one of the richest man in Singri Para has become a pauper following the raid.
