Wednesday saw the special football event “Winning Spirit,” which was held by the KLABU-PSG Club Center of Camp-19 in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar, with the goal of enhancing the mental and physical development of youngsters living in refugee camps.
Attended the competition were more than a hundred boys and girls from the refugee region. A news statement said that the organizers gave the Rohingya kids sporting equipment, jerseys, and mementos from the competition.
Organizing the event were top firms in the Material Science and Digital Identification Solutions industry, including Avery Dennison, KLABU Foundation, and the social purpose organization Friendship. Together with representatives from these groups, participants included youngsters from the refugee area.
Additionally present were representatives from the refugee camp, Deputy Director Ahmed Toufiqur Rahman of Friendship, Deputy General Manager Abu Mohammad Shahab of Apparel Solutions, Vice Presidents Kenji Liu of South Asia, and Mohammad Sajjad Hossain of Bangladesh.
Kenji Liu said that in 2019 Avery Dennison collaborated with KLABU to build a TechStyle Sports Clubhouse in Kenya. Subsequently, in the refugee camp of Cox’s Bazar, they built a sports clubhouse. The Club Centre was jointly established in the Ukhiya refugee area by the SPO Friendship and the French football team Paris Saint-Germain Club.
Speakers at the gathering underlined the need of helping Myanmar’s displaced people to reconstruct their lives. Sports could be quite important in this sense. Something like the “Winning Spirit” competition can be a special chance to influence kids’ and teenagers’ futures. The guests thought that these kinds of projects would help efficiently to accomplish objectives by cooperation.
