On Tuesday (January 3) at around 4:30 pm some 15/20 masked hoodlums equipped with sharp weapons and firearms kidnaped a refugee child wounding two more children while they were playing football near mountain, western side of H block, Nayapara registered refugee camp in Teknaf.

The victim is a 12 year old son of Rahima, who resides at Nayapara camp of Teknaf and the wounded victims include children of Abdu Zabbar and Hala of same camp.

Eye witnesses said, “Some of the masked terrorists suddenly attacked on us while we were playing football and captured O. When Manjur and Hala tried to resist the terrorists from taking O, they fired several rounds of bullet and took away O.”

They further said that while the kidnappers fired bullets, Manjur received deadly injury. Other children rushed Manjur to camp base hospital in critical condition.

A tense situation is prevailing around the area.
