As a follow-up to Myanmar Military Information Center’s recent announcement, of promptly launching yet another “clearance project” across Maungdaw, Buthiduang and Ratheduang, a team of around a hundred and fifty militants have conducted a search operation in Khawarbill village near Phurma canal, Bolibazar, Maungdaw, on the afternoon of 20th December – during which they apprehended the immediate family and brother in law of a missing local Rohingya, Mohammad Ali.
Rohingyas residing around Phurma canal have had to flee to Bangladesh, soon after the first gruesome massacre, executed by the Myanmar Military in the name of a “clearance project”, last year.
