A devastating accident has left the Rohingya community in mourning as a 12-year-old boy from Kutupalong tragically lost his life in a truck accident near Camp-8W, Block A-17. The young boy and his mother were en route to visit family members when a parked truck unexpectedly began to roll backward on the narrow brick road, fatally injuring the boy.
Witnesses recounted the heart-wrenching scene as the mother, who had managed to leap to safety, watched helplessly as her son was caught under the truck. The boy sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The tragic incident has cast a shadow of grief over the camp, especially as it emerges that this is the second recent tragedy for the family. The boy’s father had previously lost his life in a separate accident, leaving the grieving mother to bear the overwhelming loss alone.
Community leaders and residents have called for urgent action, urging authorities to implement stricter safety protocols for vehicles operating within the camp’s crowded, narrow roads.
