On July 1, a group of 20 Rohingya from Arakan state were sentenced to one year jail by a Bogale Township court, Ayeyarwady, Myanmar.
On June 2021, 20 Rohingya were arrested near the Bogale forest Reserve when they were travelling away from Rakhine/Arakan state.
Amidst the arrestee, the children were sent to a juvenile detention centre, women were sent to a women’s shelter in Twante and the adult men was sent to prison.
The Rohingya arrested were seven men and 13 women. Most were under the age of 18. One man is over 18.
They are from Maungdaw, Buthidaung, Rathedaung and Sittwe Township.
