On Sunday, 31 October 2021 at around 10:30 am three Rohingya refugees working with World Vision went to clean a septic tank at the Balukhali camp. Upon opening the septic tank three of them were pulled into the tank and two died immediately.
A refugee from Balukhali told Rohingya Khobor that once a worker opened the cover of the septic tank he was pulled into the tank and while the other two trying to rescue, they were also pulled inside the tank.
The deceased have been identified as Saddam (25), son of Nazir Hossain of the same block and Nurul Amin (26) of block H-22. The injured has been identified as Kabir Ahmed, 30, son of Monir Ahmed of Camp 10H12. They are all employees of World Vision.
The additional superintendent of APBN said the two bodies have been handed over to their relatives and the injured person was rushed to the camp base hospital for treatment.
