On Monday the locals of Gulaghat village in Sreepur recovered a Rohingya Md. Rubel (30) lying alongside the road and rushed him to near a by hospital. Later on Tuesday, the police of Sreepur police station sent Rubel to Ukhiya Kutupalong police camp in Cox’s Bazar district as reported by Prothom.
Md. Mosharraf Hossain of Gulaghat village told Prothom Alo that local people saw an unidentified young man lying unconscious on the side of the road on Monday night. Instantly, the young man was rescued and taken to Sreepur Upazila Health Complex. Within moments of receiving first aid at the hospital, the young man began to speak.
A video of Rubel while undergoing treatment in the hospital has come to Prothom Alo. The young man was speaking somewhat indistinctly in his local language. Rubel said in that video that his home is in Myanmar’s Rakhine State. However, his parents and all other family members were killed there. Then he moved to Bangladesh with his neighbors. He currently lives in the Ukhia Rohingya camp.
In that video, Rubel claims that he came to Gazipur with three persons named Noor Mohammad, Sharif and Sabuj, as a load-unloader of a truck loaded with raw materials. The truck was heading towards Barmi in Sreepur of Gazipur. On the way, he was forcibly made unconscious by sniffing something. Rubel could not tell where the truck came from or whether he was a permanent employee of that truck or not. His words were getting mixed up with physical weakness.
Mohammed Azizur Rahman, Inspector (Investigation) of Sreepur police station confirmed the matter and continued that on information from hospital authority, Sreepur police went to hospital, took Rubel under police control and sent him to Ukhiya Kutupalong police camp on Tuesday evening.
