On December 25, the Military Council arrested 24 Rohingyas, 13 men and 11 women, while they were stationed in a five story building in Ukfo street of Mawlamine in Mon state. The Rohingya were being trafficked to another location.
The arrested 24 Rohingyas were taken to the Mawlamyain police station and are being investigated jointly by the police and the Department of Foreign Affairs.
A Rohingya elite from Bangladesh refugee camp said that Rohingyas both in Bangladesh camp and Rakhine state are in deplorable condition that is compelling them to flee to vivid countries taking life risk in search of safety and dignified life.
