On 13 January 2023 around 2 am, fire broke out at a Rohingya refugee shed of Basa Ali in Qasim Nagar of Jammu. Nearby refugees rushed and managed to bring the fire under control within an hour.
A refugee from Qasim Nagar camp said that they saw Basa Ali’s hous under fire and rapidly informed the matter to the authority over phone. Refugees in the area rushed to the spot and put off the fire after attempt of an hour. The reason behind the fire is yet to be known.
It has also been learnt that the wife of Basa Ali is currently in detention center of Jammu.
No causalities have been reported but most of the house hold materials burnt to ashes.
