On 09 August, Department of Myanmar Examinations of Myanmar’s Ministry of Education has released the final result of matriculation examination of 2019/2020 academic year.
The total rate of student passed is 32.06% where 799 students got distinction in all subjects. Among those is Mamad Ayaz from Buthidaung, who scored distinctions in all subject. Besides, Rukiya Be Be and Roshni from Maungdaw has achieved 4 distinctions.
2019/2020 academic year, over nine hundred thousand students have sat in the examination among them 291798 have passed said minister of Myanmar educational office.
The highest student passed rate is from Mandalay region where the total pass rate is 37%. The lowest student passed is in Shan state where the rate of the pass is 20%.
In 2018-2019 academic year Myanmar registered a pass rate of matriculation examination of 31.44% nationwide.
42 physically disabled students have passed, where 175 students have sat the examination. 12 blind students have passed, where 32 students have sat the examination and 113 students have passed from jail where 192 students have sat in the examination mentioned the Myanmar examination board.
Although it is a very happy day for the Rohingya students who were able to sit in the exam in Myanmar and score flying colours, it is also a sad day for many Rohingya students who are living in the Bangladesh refugee camp who were not able to sit for the exam.
Myanmar genocide’s effect continues on the Rohingyas’ everyday life even after three years and with many years to come.
