On 19 September 2022 (Monday) the military council arrested 42 Rohingya men and women including 6 children of under age 10 at Nga Myaung Chaung Shey Ywa of Myaung Mya township in Ayerawaddy region.
The locals said, “The village administrator saw a Rohingya who doesn’t know Myanmar language near his mil, so police and military came, and detained him along with 41 more Rohingyas. The arrestees were taken to police station in cars.”
The detainees have been kept at police station and a man and two women in isolation for being positive to COVID-19, according to locals.
The locals who helped the arrestees said that they (arrested Rohingyas) fled from Rathidaung, Buthidaung, and Maungdaw of Rakhine state due to tensions and ongoing fighting between Arakan Army and military council.
