On 23rd August at late night, Chittagong’s Boalkhali police arrested 64 Rohingyas who fled from various Rohingya refugee camps in Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar.
Boalkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Ali confirmed to Barta Bazar on Monday (August 23) that they (Rohingyas) were detained from various rented houses in the Bu-Ali Kalandar Shah Mazar Gate area of Karaldenga Union in the Upazila.
He said that these Rohingyas fled from various Rohingya refugee camps in Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar and took up residence in different rented houses in Boalkhali. Besides, they were working as labourers in the lemon groves and areas in the local hills. A case has been filed against them under the relevant section and sent to the court.
