Armed Police Battalion (14-APBn) arrested 4 members of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) and recovered ARSA equipment from their possession on Friday morning (28 April).
The arrested ARSA members are Zubair (20) son of deceased Mohammad Syed of B-W Block of Camp-2, Noor Mohammad (25), son of deceased Kamal Hossain of D-8 block of Camp-6, Mosa Bibi (16), daughter of Zobair Ahmad of D-8 block of Camp-5 and Jamila Begum (48), wife of deceased Saleh Ahmad.
According to source, on Thursday around 8pm, 14-APBn conducted raid upon the information of the location of Sami Uddin led 10-15 ARSA members equipped with firearms at camp 7. Sensing the presence of APBn, the so called ARSA members started firing at APBn. APBn also responded with firing where an ARSA member received bullet injury.
“At one stage of the operation, the operation was conducted on the information of the location of the terrorist Sami Uddin with his accompanies in a room of Camp-5 at 7 am today. APBN arrested 4 including 2 women. At that time the terrorist Sami Uddin and others escaped”, Sayed Md Harunur Rashid, Additional DIG of APBn-14 said in a briefing today. And also continued that during the arrest, the APBn recovered some ammunitions, guns, and walkie-talkies from the spot.
