Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh Suspected members of the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) killed Mohammed Ismail in Camp 2E on July 8, 2024, at approximately 3:50 PM. The incident took place on the football field adjacent to the camp’s desolation site.
Bacha Mia and Solema Khatun assigned Ismail the Family Counting Number (FCN) 130820, and he lived in Block C of Camp 2E. After the attack, the attending doctor admitted Ismail to the MSF hospital and declared him dead.
This tragic event underscores the persistent violence and instability in the Rohingya camps. ARSA, a militant group, has been involved in various violent activities, often resulting in clashes with law enforcement and rival factions within the camps. The situation remains tense as the authorities continue their efforts to maintain peace and security in the region.
