On Wednesday (January 4) afternoon, some active members of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) fired bullets aimed at head majhi of camp-1W and his brother in Kutupalong camp, where head majhi breathed his last.
The deceased is Jahangir, head majhi of camp 1W, and wounded victim is Jahangir’s brother.
The locals said, in broad daylight, some active members of ARSA fired towards Jahangir who received bullet hurt over his belly, and bullet hit on the thigh of Jahangir’s brother. The nearby people rushed them to camp hospital in critical condition. And the on duty doctor declared Jahangir dead and sent Jahangir’s brother to Cox’s Bazar hospital for treatment.
A Rohingya from Kutupalong camp said under anonymity that since last few months block majhis in camps became undercover to be protected from the ‘killing mission’ of ARSA.
The refugees said that they lost sleep, because of ARSA’s brutalities and killing mission in camp.
The peace loving Rohingyas demand the immediate arrest of ARSA members and their supporters before further deterioration of camp situation.
