On Friday, Canadian Minister of International Development and Minister responsible for the Pacific Economic Development Agency, Harjit S. Sajjan started his 4 day trip to Bangladesh including a visit to the Rohingya refugee camp.
According to Inter Sector Coordination Group Bangladesh (ISCG) post on Twitter, he spent a whole day at Rohingya refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar and had conversations with different groups of refugees.
He also met with the women of different households in the host community and played football with Rohingya youths.
Today, Minister Sajjan will have meeting with Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen at State guesthouse Padma.
During his visit he will visit Canada-funded projects and meet with development and humanitarian partners and beneficiaries.He will also discuss potential areas of cooperation aligned with Canada’s recently announced Indo-Pacific Strategy and in Bangladesh, Canada’s strategy to respond to the Rohingya and Myanmar crises.
