This morning an announcement from Camp in Charge (CiC) of camp 9/10 said to close the shops in camp within 48 hours. Otherwise after 48 hours, the materials will be taken to CiC office.
Kyaw Myint from Camp 9 told Rohingya Khobor (RK) that the announcement on behalf of CiC made Rohingya anxious.
“The ration that we get doesn’t meet our daily necessities. Moreover we need additional costs to maintain a family besides the ration we get. So we need do shops and jobs, etc,” Kyaw Myint said this in response to a RK reporter.
“Although they do not want to, most probably refugees will be forced to engage themselves in anti social activities in search of maintaining expenses, If they not get access to livelihood.” another refugee said.
The decision on closing shops and other businesses will certainly force the Rohingya to perhaps choose unlawful ways to meet their daily needs.
Generally, refugees think that international organizations working with refugees should intervene in this regard.
