As the second wave of global pandemic hits Bangladesh, nearly 11 Rohingya refugees died since March due to the following deadly virus.
According to Mohammad Shamsud Douza, a senior official of RRRC told Anadolu Agency, about 507 others contracted the deadly disease whereas the host country, UN agencies and other rights groups have all prepared along with necessary arrangements and healthcare facilities for the refugee people in camps.
He also added, “We regularly monitor and provide those support, including COVID-19 sample testing facilities in the camps for the refugee people.”
On Tuesday, a 67-year-old Rohingya man died at Teknaf Rohingya refugee camp because of the virus infection. According to the district’s Civil Surgeon Office, as many as 7,590 people have been infected, 89 patients have died in Cox’s Bazar.
