On 12 June (Monday) evening a devastating fire broke out at Dar Paing Bazar of Akeyab, Myanmar that destroyed many shops.
A local said that a fire suddenly broke out from a shop and spread around within short time. In the mean time, shop owners came forward and tried to distinguish the fire by throwing sand and water to the fire. Ultimately fire came under control after hours of attempt.
“More than ten shops have been burnt to ashes with loss of millions of kyat. Most of the shops burnt in fire are belonged to Rohingyas”, another local said.
Nobody knows the reason behind the fire. But fire starting within a month of cyclone Mocha hit Sittwe made the Sittwe residents highly worried.
