A fire erupted at the NGO Forum garbage unit near H Block in Nayapara Camp at approximately 10:10 AM today. The flames quickly spread, triggering panic among camp residents. However, swift action by community members, Rohingya firefighters, and the BGP managed to bring the blaze under control before it could cause widespread damage.
During the incident, 15-year-old Niyamot Ullah, son of Zoinal Uddin, sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment; his condition remains uncertain. Sub-Majhi Zamal Hossain from Camp 26 confirmed the incident, stating that local efforts were promptly initiated to contain the fire.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire, and assessments of the damage are ongoing. Fortunately, no major structural losses have been reported at this time.
