On Sunday (29 January) at 11 pm, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-15) said that they have detained five active members including group commander of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) in a joint operation of RAB, APBn, and district Police around Rohingya camps in Ukhiya.
The persons detained are ARSA Commander Dr. Rafiq (54), Member Mohammad Rafiq (20), Nurul Amin (34), Mohammad Rafiq (21), Khairul Amin (32). They are all residents of Rohingya camp in Ukhiya.
ASP said, “In the middle of the night, we conducted a joint operation in various Rohingya camps in Ukhiya along with APBN and district police. Five members including the commander of the separatist terrorist organization ‘ARSA’ were arrested. Among the arrested Dr. Rafiq is an ARSA group commander of the organization. The rest were engaged in the treatment and supply of medicine to the party. There are several cases against them including murder, drugs and police assault. They been handed over to Ukhiya police station under relevant act.”
