On the 9th of October, Bangladesh Foreign Secretary, Masud Bin Momen stated that the shocking murder of one of the leaders of Rohingya, Mohibullah, will not make any impact on the repatriation of Rohingya people to their homeland Myanmar.
Momen came to Cox’s Bazar for a two-day trip where he told the journalists that, “Five persons have been arrested over Mohib Ullah killing. The government is taking into account the incident with due importance.”
He also added that they have talked with the family of Mohibullah and the government is giving intensified security to the family. He and his team had a conversation with Mohibullah’s brother Habibullah.
The Foreign Secretary said different initiatives are underway for initiating the repatriation process while the United Nations also joined the process of shifting about 80,000 Rohingya people to Bhashan Char by February 2022.
