Buthidaung- A logger was critically injured in an attack by Hlun Htein personal in the woods outside his village.

Shamsu Alam went out of his home in Ke Singa Para on Wednesday to collect wood when some Hlun Htein personal attacked him.

Details are not clear as the victim is yet to regain full consciousness All he can do at this moment is cry out for water.

His teeth have been broken, and blood is gushing out his mouth, hours after the assault took place.

He was earlier rescued by locals in a semi-conscious state by locals. He is still in a critical condition.

Many loggers and fishermen who venture out of their localities have found themselves attacked by security forces or hostile Rakhine gangs. Activists allege this is a systematic effort to deprive Rohingyas out of a livelihood, create food shortages, and force the populace to migrate to Bangladesh.

Most Rohingya villagers are dependent on logging and fishing for survival.
