RAB has arrested 6 terrorists including Arakan Salvation Army (ARSA) commander Hafez Noor Mohammad from Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar.

On Friday (July 21) around 10 pm, the ARSA commander was arrested with weapons from a hill in Baharchhara Shamlapur of Teknaf.  According to his information, RAB raided the hill and arrested 5 more terrorists.

The arrested are ARSA Commander Hafer Noor Mohammad, Mohammad Hossain Johar, Md.  Farooq, Monir Ahmed, Noor Islam and Md.  Yasin.

1 pistol, 1 foreign revolver, 1 short gun, 4 LG, and ammunition worth 70 thousand taka were recovered from them.

On Saturday (22 July) RAB’s media branch director Khandaker Al Moin reported this information in a press conference.

He said that the detainees are involved in murder, terrorism, and kidnapping in Ukhiya Teknaf area including the camp.  They are a terrorist group of 30-35 people under the leadership of ARSS Commander Hafeez Noor Mohammad who carry out various criminal activities in the camp.

RAB personnel said that ARSA Commander Noor Mohammad is also skilled in making explosives.  There are 15 cases against him including murder and kidnapping.  More than 300 ARSA terrorists are active in Ukhiya and Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar.  RAB said that RAB’s operation is ongoing in the camp to catch them.
