Rakhinese extremists severely beat up a Rohingya man and stole his mobile and money while he was going to work in downtown on Thursday (17 August) morning.
The victim is Ali Hussein (27) son of Abu Shama, resident of Thek Kay Pyin village in Sittwe township.
Local source said that Hussein is the only breadwinner in his family. The Rakhine hoodlums not only brutally beat up and robbed Hussein, but also pushed his family into poverty.
“The Rakhine radical group attacked or beat him (Hussein) up until got senseless,” a Rohingya from Sittwe said this by adding more that the extremist group attacked on Hussein with the intention of murder. So, they left the scene thinking Hussein died.
