Today more than 1.5 billion Muslims celebrates Eid al-Fitr in almost all countries of the world and within them are 1.1 million Rohingya has observed their Eid in the Bangladeshi refugee camp. This is their second Eid in the camp.
The Rohingya refugees had a mix feelings of the Eid, far away from their home. They remembered their families and friends who were tortured and murdered in 2017 by the military and their cronies. In addition, the uncertainty to a safe return to their homeland extended their anguish.
A young Rohingya refugee said,” I’m seriously feeling today for my motherland. I didn’t buy new clothes for the Eid in solidarity with my fellow Rohingya brothers and sisters who are unable to buy clothes”
