On 22 Dec 2021 at 2:10 PM, 77 Rohingya were arrested in the village of Gwe Tauk, Taungup Township of Rakhine State while they were travelling from Maungdaw to Yangon
Among the detainees were 17 men, 49 women, three male and eight female children. They are in the police custody of Taungup Township.
The Taungup Township is one of the dangerous places for Muslims, it is known as a Muslim free zone in Rakhine State.
Currently, around 5000 to 8000 Rohingyas are detained in various cities of Myanmar and the majority of them are female and teenagers.
