The Examination Board of Rohingya Refugees is set to begin its first matriculation examination on March 26 inside the refugee camps, marking a significant step in formal education for Rohingya students.
Officials said that all question papers and answer scripts have already been handed over to the Armed Police Battalion under strict security arrangements to ensure safe handling and distribution.
The board stated that the materials will be delivered to designated exam centres across the camps in coordination with relevant authorities and EBRR representatives, aiming to ensure timely and secure arrival.
Photographs shared by the board show the handover process taking place at the EBRR office in the presence of committee members.
The examination follows a structure similar to Myanmar’s matriculation system, allowing Rohingya students to continue their studies in a familiar academic format despite living in displacement.
The Examination Board of Rohingya Refugees, operating within the camps in Cox’s Bazar, aims to improve education standards and provide structured academic recognition for students.
Community members described the initiative as a hopeful development for Rohingya youth, highlighting education as a critical pathway for the future despite ongoing challenges.
