Cox’s Bazar: On Tuesday (11 October) afternoon, Faridul Alam, Public Prosecutor (PP) of Cox’s Bazar District and Sessions Judge’s Court said that Tuesday was the day of taking testimony in the murder case of Rohingya leader Mohibullah. The testimony day has been delayed for the case’ plaintiff and witnesses had not attended to the court till 2 pm, though they were summoned by court on the day of testimony fixed.
“In the morning, 14 accused in the case were brought to court from Cox’s Bazar District Jail,” the PP said
Faridul said that the judge will delay the date of taking the testimony and set the next day.
On the night of September 29, 2021, a group of gunmen shot and killed 48-year-old Rohingya leader Mohammad Mohibullah at the 1-East Lambasia camp in Ukhiya.
According to the documents of the case, Farid, the lawyer of the state said that the day after the murder, Mohibullah’s younger brother Habibullah filed a murder case with Ukhia Police Station.
“After a long eight-and-a-half-month investigation, former Inspector (Investigation) of Ukhia police station, Gazi Salah Uddin, filed a charge sheet against 29 people in the court on September 11,” the state prosecutor said.
Mohibullah was the chairman of Arakan Rohingya Society and Peace for Human rights (ARSPH) who fled to Bangladesh in 2017 in order to save life.
